EVEN MORE TRAINING COURSES

Our portfolio of free workshops and webinars goes from strength to strength and we have now added several Premium Training Courses. Our business policy has always been to be really good at what we specialise in and find excellent partners for other activities. The new range includes assessment, dyslexia and email management, to name just a few. To deliver these, we are working with some of the best trainers in the UK. Download the brochure here or contact us to discuss your needs.

SIT-STAND QUICK TIPS

We have been working with employers to identify behaviour change issues and training requirements related to the use of sit-stand desks in the office. Needs vary from organisation to organisation and this often depends as much on corporate culture as on physical workplace issues. [More]

NEW PERSONNEL

We are delighted to welcome Kevin Webb to the company as Customer Development Manager. Kevin was with ASD for over 16 years and he is looking forward to speaking to customers old and new. If you already know Kevin, he has retained his old mobile number or can be contacted through the office. With rather less experience, we also welcome Perry de Caux as our new IT & Marketing intern. Our relationship with Bournemouth University has been very successful over several years and we are confident Perry will continue that tradition.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our CSR programme is evolving steadily and our CSR infographic for the financial year just ended can be found here. Particularly satisfying are the customer satisfaction scores, energy savings through solar energy and, of course, gaining Investors in People Gold recognition.

GLOBAL CORPORATE CHALLENGE

We entered a GCC team for the first time this year and the challenge has just finished. Over the 100 days, the average daily steps for our team of 7 people rose by over 42% from 8565 to 12171. The combination of entering your daily progress and competing with colleagues are undoubtedly incentives and we shall certainly be participating again next year.

Quick Tips for Sit-Stand Desk Users

We have been working with employers to identify behaviour change issues and training requirements related to the use of sit-stand desks in the office. Needs vary from organisation to organisation and this often depends as much on corporate culture as on physical workplace issues.

One common theme has been the need for a ‘quick tips’ list. Those of us embedded in these activities every day sometimes forget that the ‘blindingly obvious’ (to us) may not even be visible to the majority! The document therefore has to be something with a handful of ideas that are easily implemented and make sense to everyone, rather than just the ergonomics/health & safety team members.

The result is a one page, ‘6 ideas’ list that is deliberately simple. For a longer, more detailed list, see one of my previous blogs.

Customer responses to the document have been good but, as always, I welcome comments.
