Six Years and Counting

SIX YEARS AND COUNTING

This is our 73rd edition so it is now six years since we introduced our monthly eBulletin. In that time, we have been (about 10 minutes) late only once and have covered an enormous variety of topics, products and events. I would like to think that we have ‘got the hang of it’ by now but I am always ready to hear suggestions about how it can be improved. We shall therefore be issuing a short survey in the New Year to establish what we are doing right and where we can improve. If you have strong views and can’t wait until then, I am always happy to discuss ideas. It is probably best to email me so that we can schedule a conversation.

BLACK FRIDAY – CYBER MONDAY – WHO NEEDS THEM?

black_friday_2015We experimented with Black Friday offers in 2014 but decided to avoid this retail phenomenon this year. We think it is unlikely that anyone will camp out overnight for a cut-price vertical mouse or laptop stand! We always strive to offer the best possible combination of quality products, competitive prices and outstanding customer service. As a result, we have responded to recent customer requests and now offer free UK mainland delivery on all accessories (subject to some quite trivial conditions). This is not a short-term offer: it is an ongoing commitment.

ADVANCED DSE ASSESSOR TRAINING

Arrangements are now finalised for our two day course in London on January 26th and 27th, 2016. The venue is the fabulous new Orangebox showroom in Clerkenwell and this high quality, interactive programme will be delivered in partnership with Human Applications. You can register and pay online here or, if you need to raise a purchase order for invoicing later, please contact the Customer Service team. As well as covering the essential legislative elements and processes, there are hands-on opportunities with products. The course content can be found here.

YEAR END SHUTDOWN

shutdown_250pxAs we approach the end of 2015, I am delighted that we had our busiest November ever with solid business already guaranteed until our annual shutdown. This year, we close at 12:30pm on Thursday December 24th 2015 and reopen at 08:30am on Monday January 4th 2016. Our last despatch day will be Monday December 21st. Our installations and assessor teams are already booked almost fully until the shutdown but, for urgent requirements, contact the Customer Service team and we shall do our best to help.

NEW VAN – NEW STRAPLINE

BigTransitOur next new van, due in January, will feature some of our latest sit-perch-stand furniture images. We are also keen to promote the fact that this sort of thinking is not a new phenomenon invented by the BBC and the Daily Mail within the last couple of years! We have been talking about movement and varying posture since the 1990s. The van design will therefore incorporate our new strapline: ‘Providing sit-stand furniture since the twentieth century.’

TABLET USE

tablet_user_250pxOur tablet user survey has now closed and we shall be publishing the results in the January eBulletin. With what we learn from the research, we shall also be launching our new handheld devices guidance. In the meantime, this is an appropriate time of year to draw your attention to the new MOVE4Kids and MOVE4Teens apps from our friends at Cardinus. The apps are designed for younger users but contain useful pointers for adults too.

BABIES

baby1Customer Development Manager, Gary Comolly, became a dad on November 30th. Zane Alexander was 8.2 lbs and mum, Jess, and baby are doing well. On the subject of babies, Erica Hobson, left the Customer Service team on December 7th to start her maternity leave. Her son is due in February and we shall bring you more news when we have it.
